Tired of always coming across Pidgey, Bellsprout, Rattata, and other
common Pokemon while out on the hunt? Finding rare Pokemon can be quite
challenging and can often lead to Pokemon Go players feeling a little frustrated, so here’s a tip on where you can find Pokemon nests in the U.K.
What is a Pokemon nest?
If you want to catch something much rarer than a Diglet, Gastly, or
Krabby, you will need to start by exploring outside of your normal game
playing area. However, the idea of roaming aimlessly fills most game
players with dread, so how can you cut your journey short and find a
nest?
A Pokemon nest is a place where you can discover a large number of
Pokemon. If nests sound like a bug to you, they probably are, caused by a
coding mistake or a problem with the game’s algorithm. My
advice to you is that if you know where a nest is, get to it quickly
because Niantic is working hard to close all of the bugs in the game. So
the ability to find lots of Pokemon in a single spot could soon be a
thing of the past.
Finding a Pokemon Nest
Since its launch, Pokemon Go has proven itself to be much
more than just a game, and it has a thriving community of trainers from
all over the world who have worked together to find Pokemon nests. Most
of the nests that have been found are in major cities, which means that
there is a lot more to see and do with Pokemon Go than just playing the game.
However, finding a Pokemon nest is not all that easy because their
locations have been known to change from time to time, so it is best
that you check to make sure Pokemon are still spawning at a particular
place before you visit it. Here’s the latest information for a couple of
cities.
London Pokemon nests
If you live in the London area, you appear to be in luck. A Pokemon Trainer called 1_am_Bruton_Gaste
has posted the places where you can find a lot of Pokemon nests in
London on Reddit. Along with the information he shared, there is a map
which shows the nest
locations. Some of the places he points to that are of particular
interest are Olympic Park, Blackheath, and Greenwich Park.

Pokemon nests in Manchester
Having done some research, I share with you where some Pokemon nests
are in and around the Greater Manchester area. A Snorlax nest was
recently seen on Brinnington Road, and the oddly-shaped Porygon was
found wandering around the Piccadilly Gardens. Also a Voltorb has been
seen in the carpark on the corner of Lord Street and Stock Street in
Strangeways.
Here are some more spots around the Greater Manchester area which
have been reported to contain Pokemon nests. However, just as with other
cities, make sure that you do your homework before setting out to visit
them.
- Onyx nest: Hulme Park or Castlefield, city center
- Tentacruel nest: Whitworth Street, city center
- Nidoking nest: Near to Stretford Mall Shopping Centre
- Snorlax nest: Sale
